Adelaide has an advantage most Australian cities do not: the whole metropolitan area is classified as designated regional for skilled migration, which opens the 491 pathway and the extra points that come with it. What it does not do is lower the English bar. You still need the score, and for most applicants that means PTE Academic. Three groups dominate our Adelaide intake, and each needs a different plan:
- Nurses and aged care workers chasing AHPRA registration, where the requirement is a minimum in every section — one weak band undoes an otherwise strong result.
- 491 and 190 applicants who need Proficient or Superior English to stay competitive in South Australia's nomination rounds.
- Graduates from Adelaide, UniSA and Flinders moving from a student visa to a skilled one, usually inside a tight post-study window.
The mistake that costs Adelaide students a retest

How the coaching runs
Group batches are capped at four students and run Monday to Friday, morning or evening on Melbourne time. Adelaide is half an hour behind for most of the year, so the evening batch starts at 7:30pm your time — workable after a shift. Every week you sit a full-length mock marked against the real criteria, with written feedback inside 24 hours. Between classes the AI portal scores your Speaking and Writing instantly, and that is where most of the real improvement happens.

Booking the test in Adelaide
Adelaide runs fewer PTE sittings per week than Sydney or Melbourne, so the gap between deciding and sitting can be longer than you expect. Book early. We will recommend a date based on where your mock scores are trending rather than the soonest available slot — sitting too early is the most expensive mistake in this process.
