How to use PTE prediction files the right way
PTE prediction files help you focus final revision on frequently seen question patterns. Score Smart updates prediction material regularly for enrolled students and shares guidance here so you practise strategically instead of memorising blindly.
Prediction files are a tool, not a shortcut
Treat prediction sets as high-yield practice, especially for Describe Image, Repeat Sentence, and Essay themes. Still complete full mocks so you build stamina and learn the real exam interface.
Students who only memorise predicted items often freeze when a new prompt appears. Pair predictions with templates, AI scoring, and trainer feedback so you can handle both familiar and unseen tasks.

What prediction files are, and what they are not
A prediction file is a compilation of questions reported by recent test-takers across Australian test centres, grouped by task type and updated as new reports come in. It is a reflection of what has recently appeared, not a leak and not a guarantee of what you will see.
Used well, they are genuinely useful — particularly for Write From Dictation, Repeat Sentence and Retell Lecture, where familiarity with recurring items translates directly into marks. Used badly, they become a substitute for skill-building, and that is where candidates come unstuck.
The failure mode is predictable: a student memorises a file, sits the exam, meets three unfamiliar items in a row and has no strategy to fall back on. Practise the file, but practise the method more.
How to use a file alongside real preparation
Treat the file as drill material for the mechanical tasks and as topic exposure for the rest. Describe Image and Summarize Written Text reward a repeatable approach far more than they reward recognising a specific prompt.
Check the date on any file you are given. Question pools rotate, and a file circulating from two exam cycles ago will waste your time while feeling productive.
Our files are updated as reports come in and are available to enrolled students, with a sample on this page so you can see the format before committing to anything.
