NAATI CCL coaching for the five PR points
NAATI CCL is worth five points on the skilled migration points test, and for many applicants those five points are the difference between an invitation and another year of waiting. It is not a language exam in the way PTE or IELTS is — you are not being assessed on your English essay writing. You are being assessed on whether you can hear a chunk of dialogue in one language and reproduce its meaning accurately in the other, under time pressure, without notes you can lean on.
What the test actually asks of you
The exam is two dialogues of roughly 300 words each, split into segments of up to 35 words. You hear a segment once, then interpret it. There is no replay, and no dictionary.
You need 63 out of 90 to pass, and you must score at least 29 in each of the two dialogues. That second condition catches people out — a strong first dialogue does not rescue a weak second one.
Topics come from everyday Australian life: medical appointments, legal advice, banking, insurance, education, social services. The vocabulary that fails students is rarely exotic. It is words like “excess”, “bulk billing”, “deposit” and “tenancy agreement”.
The languages we teach
Punjabi runs as a one-month group course ($550), Monday to Friday, 9:00–10:00 PM Melbourne time.
Nepali runs as a one-month group course ($550), Monday to Friday, 10:00–11:00 PM Melbourne time.
Hindi runs as 12 one-to-one sessions ($500) with flexible booking, which suits students whose availability changes week to week.

Why fluent speakers still fail
Most candidates who fail CCL are completely fluent in both languages. That is the confusing part, and it is why self-study so often stalls.
The three habits that cost marks are omission (dropping a detail such as a date, a number or a qualifier), distortion (changing the meaning while keeping the gist), and register drift (turning a doctor’s careful phrasing into casual speech). None of these feel like errors while you are making them.
Memory load is the other constraint. Thirty-five words is longer than it sounds when you are also translating. Structured segment practice builds that capacity; general conversation does not.
How the classes are structured
Every session is graded dialogue practice with examiner-style marking. You interpret, you are marked against the same criteria NAATI applies, and you hear precisely which words cost you.
We build subject-specific glossaries as we go — the medical set, the legal set, the banking set — because the vocabulary gap is topic-shaped, not general.
Trainers on the NAATI program have passed the CCL exam in the language they teach.
Timing your booking
NAATI test dates fill, and results take time to issue. If your points depend on CCL, work backwards from your visa timeline rather than booking the test when you feel ready.
A one-month program with daily practice is a realistic runway for most fluent speakers. Students who have already sat the test once and missed usually need less.
