Format and scoring
The exam is two dialogues of roughly 300 words, split into segments of up to 35 words. Each plays once. You interpret consecutively between English and your community language. Pass is 63 out of 90, with a minimum of 29 in each dialogue — so consistency across both matters more than a strong start. Almost every candidate who fails is fluent in both languages, which makes the result confusing. The three habits behind most failures are omission, where a detail drops off a long segment; distortion, where the meaning shifts while the gist holds; and register drift, where professional phrasing turns conversational.
